

Napalm Strike: This one is also a little complicated. I tried making healing clouds at one point but they're very difficult to configure into something practical and are ultimately inferior to a simple spammable healing bolt. This and Breathing Snake are the only healing spells I'd probably bother making in future unless I can come up with a funny spell concept that works. I am very sad that I won't get to use it in my modified Homestead modpack. It's also great for lighting up outdoor areas and other such areas due to the fact that the permanent light balls it creates being extremely FPS-friendly as opposed to things such as torches whose particle effects can cause horrific lag at a point.

This spell is absolutely fantastic for cave exploration and I must recommend that anyone using Thaumic Augmentation make this spell focus ASAP. Lightening Bolt: An extremely spammable bolt spell that creates a light source. Lawn Digger: Same as Canal Excavator except it only digs one layer deep. Instant Quarry: Exactly the same as Canal Excavator except it has Fortune IV on it. AOE spells generally seem a bit impractical for real self defense and this is the only thing I managed to come up with that's actually worth using besides an "icy caltrops" (large amount of tiny ice mines with long slow effect) spell I've since recycled due to it not really functioning properly and how easily it can cause friendly fire. It scatters 2 projectiles that each create a cloud of fire and earth which set things on fire and deal high damage. It seems extremely impractical.įireball: This one is a bit complicated. It seems very random and I've been unable to figure out why it does this. It says it's meant to only apply for 10 seconds but the curse effect will actually linger for a few minutes. This is my main damage spell due to its raw practicality and damage output.Įldritch Blast: A bolt that creates an area of Curse effect on the ground. Imgur isn't working right now, so here they are on ImgBB (SET IT TO A-Z VIEW FOR THE IMAGES TO DISPLAY IN THE PROPER ORDER): I've done a fair bit of experimentation with foci in RAD (user-unfriendly modpack with an toxicity-encouraging creator and community, wouldn't recommend) and I've come up with a lot of different foci for different tasks, as well as some jokey-yet-effective ones for fun. In any case, I wanted to see what sorts of spell foci other people have come up with, or if they had any neat tips to offer. That means no Thaumic Augmentation or Crimson Revelations, sadly.

Unfortunately the modpack is for Minecraft 1.10 because most mods skip from 1.7.10 straight to 1.12, including a lot of Thaumcraft addons.

I'm making some heavy modifications to the (ATlauncher) Homestead modpack (even contacted the creator and got some advice about it, including pointing out changes I could do that they themself would make if they made another update to it again) including adding Thaumcraft to it.
